Over our 26 year history working with facilities across the country, the most popular time for renovations to indoor areas commonly occurs during the summer months where programs can move outside and the indoor spaces are less busy. With the ever-changing dynamics of facilities, we’ve experienced increasing demand for implementations to occur in-season when facilities are at their busiest yet renovations need to happen. These demands have required careful planning, communication, and execution of our implementation process. I wanted to share some insight from our Operations Team on some of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into the planning and execution of a project.

Our in-house team will work directly with your facility as soon as an agreement is made to ensure that any preliminary questions or concerns are immediately addressed so as to make the site as comfortable about the project as possible.

Before the project begins the Sports Interiors team will coordinate the ordering and delivery of equipment that will be needed for the installation and provide regular updates on timelines and updates to any initial planning that is made.

Court availability and days our teams can and cannot work will be addressed before the project begins so everyone knows the project schedule for each week that we are on site

If wanted by the club an additional or separate call can be scheduled with the facilities/maintenance manager to ensure all questions or plans ahead of the project start date are addressed.

Our team will share contact details for the crew, or crews, that will be on-site in the event something sudden or urgent is needed, however it is important to note that the SI office team will be available around the clock to address issues or questions.

With this time of year tennis court time can be busy and as such our team have the potential option to work through the nights in order to avoid clubs that do not have availability during the day

If maintaining existing conditions – approximately 1 court completed a day

If creating new locations for lights – approximately 1 court completed per 2 days

One bay can be completed in approximately 1 day

Gable/end walls

Gable walls – approximately 1 day per gable wall

End walls – Multiple end walls per day, case-by-case basis

Our lighting team needs to take one court at a time for exclusive use, but if more can be made available this helps with the efficiency of the project work

Our liner team needs to take two courts at a time for exclusive use, but if more can be made available this helps with the efficiency of the project work

If a project has both lights and liner the two teams would work in conjunction with each other over two courts and follow each other from space to space
-
We offer a full turnkey solution – from demo of the existing lighting/liner system to removal from the site, installation of the new system, and removal of the equipment needed for the project

Before and after the project we take photos and light measurements when possible to analyze the work that is completed
