For this post, I wanted to explain who governs the game of tennis and in particular, provide some information on the established guidelines for lighting and our approach to light levels.  The International Tennis Federation (ITF) is the governing body of world tennis, wheelchair tennis, and beach tennis.  The ITF's governance responsibilities include maintaining and enforcing the rules of tennis, regulating international team competitions, promoting the game, and preserving the sport's integrity.  Here's the link to the ITF's website with valuable information on its guidelines to lighting: ITF facilities guide.

Here is a visual explaining the different classifications of facilities along with the recommended light levels for each. Click on the image below to download:

Learn more about approach to Indoor LED Lighting

Sports Interiors records the current light levels before we begin installation of our LED System. More specifically, we record from 15 points along the playing area of the indoor tennis court to ensure we deliver not only increased light levels, but consistent and even distribution of light across the playing area. After the implementation of our LED Tennis Lighting System, we again record the light levels from the 15 different points across the tennis court. For more information on our approach to light levels and the installation process call us at 847-892-6956 or click on the button below.
